How we work?
Saveda farm and cottages is a small concept created by our family in union with local villagers during the time of pandemic-induced lockdown. It was built just to stay near the river in peace. We never thought we will be a staycation. We take care of our cottages as a team with the help of local people. We do not run round the clock at reception and services, but we do our best to provide the most relaxing and joyful experience for you. We are here for you every day, between 7am – 10 pm. if you want a clean-up more than a regular one, just let us know when you check in or in the morning. The kitchen service also works on a time basis, and it closes by 10.30 PM, please ask for your requirements from the kitchen pre-hand – we are always happy to help in any way we can.
Note that the nearest ATM is at the local bank, 10 min away, and not sure all the time that it has cash available. The other ATM is about 30 minutes by car away – please come prepared!

We are in Nature!
Saveda dwells on a farm and is part of local nature, our cleaning standards are at the highest, but that doesn’t stop occasional insects, furry caterpillars, frogs, reptiles, or mice from visiting the premises. We have kept nets and grills to prevent them in the houses. Please consider this before. We are immersed in nature. Animals are friends, not enemies. The nature stay in Karjat. We urge you to always turn your lights on at night to step out. Also we recommend keeping your shoes inside your rooms, especially during the night hours

Did you know that a spider can make a new web in less than 1 hour?

With our biggest efforts to keep the houses perfect and insect free, we do bio-pest control once every 1 and half months, yet if you see some spiders, insects, or mosquitoes, please use the repellent kept in the room or ask for a net. That is just nature saying a “Hi” and kindly consider it as a part of you.

Some basics
The Internet is available in our common areas, not inside the rooms, yet sometimes works poorly due to connectivity issues in remote spots. We consider it as a USP that disconnects and establish you in nature. We recommend being prepared for the off-the-grid experience.
After 10 PM the main gate closes and we recommend avoiding night outs and night drives after that. Also, we wouldn’t be able to take responsibility for such a situation.
We do not serve an al- a-carte system, to steer clear of refrigerated or freezer to pan food culture. We prepare fresh meals only as a buffet with a set menu. We would be happy to serve you, if you let us know any special preparations or preferences in meals. All non-veg preparations need a pre-requisite before a day.
We do serve clean purified RO water, not the plastic bottled ones. Also we do not stock any carbonated as well as alcoholic beverages.

Location

Please take a careful look at the map during your drive. On your way from Karjat town, within the last 5 minutes, you will cross the River, Pej. Just after crossing the river, you can find a non-tarred road to your left going down. Please take that U-turn road, as Google Maps may show you a straight direction, which is wrong. You can see our hoarding too at the U-turn. In less than 1 KM inside on your left side, you can find Saveda. There are so many things to explore around – by foot or by car/autorickshaw/bike. Just to mention, you can walk through the outer stretches of our farm down to the coconut palm yards, explore local small waterfalls in monsoon, visit the Jain temple in 30 min distance, go for trekking in kondhane Buddhist caves,50 min away and Kothaligad hillside fort and hiking spot with a temple in 40 min distance.
Not feel like trekking? Don’t worry, you can opt for a picturesque view of the valley and watch the sunrise at the panorama point. You can consider visiting the famous ND film studio in just 30 min time too.
Check-in is 1 PM, please avoid check-in later than 7 PM since it is not that easy to reach in dark. Check-out by 11 am.

Arrival and departure assistances
If you are planning to travel by train, we are happy to share contacts for our recommended driver once you have a confirmed reservation to reach us hassle-free. Our recommended drivers can pick you up from the nearest railway station. We strongly recommend using our known drivers that offer fair prices and safe arrival.
